Foundations
Formed in January 2005 by Nicola Taylor, Elliott Costa joined later in August of the same year.
Nicola and Elliott met when they were acting for the seller and buyer respectively on a property transaction. Their professional relationship grew and they decided to work with each other going forward. Unbeknown to each other they were also next door neighbours!
The practice consisted at that early stage solely of family members. Namely Nicola’s husband Michael Mercer, who is now the CEO, and Hazel Costa, Elliott’s mum, who is our Legal Cashier. Both Michael and Hazel are still vital to Taylors Legal and are now “part of the furniture”.
Development & Growth
The firm grew organically with referrals from local businesses and it was from this that Nicola and Elliott moved into their first office in Loughton together. In 2006 Taylors Legal moved to the Head office on Manor Road in Chigwell and this is where our Head Office remains.
We have developed into a boutique firm, specialising in New Build purchases, as well as being experts in Residential and Commercial Conveyancing, Shared Ownership, Wills, Probate & Powers of Attorney, Family and Litigation.
We have grown steadily in numbers but we have retained the family feeling. We have employed an excellent team who all contribute to the Taylors Legal family, all who we introduce on Our Teams page.
Looking to the future
In 2017 we expanded and obtained our Branch Office which predominantly deals with New Build purchases. We have a thriving New Build Team which is headed by Amy Randall, our long standing solicitor of 10 years who exemplifies the excellence that the Taylors Legal team strive for. Amy's career has blossomed here at Taylors Legal, from legal assistant to trainee to qualified solicitor and we are incredibly proud of her. We are always looking for like minded individuals to strengthen our team (see Careers).
In August 2018, Nicola and Elliott were delighted to be joined by two new partners: Nicola Daniel and Shamma Kambo (Shamma being a former trainee and is now a partner in the firm – a true success story).
